You can't just keep using the same xml element for different purposes - there are others to pick from.

IMO, if you have a single date that you want to use in multiple places, you should use the built-in Insert > Quick Parts > Document Property > Publish Date.

The instructions I gave were for a one-off demonstration. If you have a number of fields and the built-in labels are restrictive, do some research and learn about Greg Maxey's tool.
