If chapter numbering has been created with Word's auto numbering, you can insert a cross-reference to the numbered paragraph for which you want a reference.

If the numbering is manual, you can wrap a bookmark around it and insert a cross-reference to bookmark text.

To display the Cross-reference dialog box, click Cross-reference on the References tab.
