Question How to add different text to accompany page number in different sections

Hello,

I have a Microsoft Word 97 - 2003 document that has 10 different sections. Some sections have 'page numbers with special text' in each footer. The actual page numbers in each section start at one and are increased by one for each subsequent page.

The accompanying page number text with the page number is the same in each section. The text changes in each section. There aren't any accompanying text in the first two sections of the document.

Anyway, I can't seem to produce page numbers with different text in each section!

Because of the contents of some of the sections, Word sometimes automatically increments the section number.

So, I would like to use page numbers such as below. But, I might be forced to use only numbers without text throughout the document.

Description of document PAGE numbers:

Cover Page does not show a page number.

Table of Contents and list of figures pages are in small Roman numerals.

Introduction pages are numbered simply 1 to 40.

Quote:
Song01-1
Song01-2
...
Song01-37
Story12-1
Story12-2
...
Story12-10
Picture33-1
Picture33-2
...
Picture33-3

...
Where "Song01-", "Story12-", and "Picture33-" is the text that accompanies the actual page number in the footer.

For example, the above "Picture33-3" is what I want to use as a page number in the footer.

Questions: What are the detailed steps to do this in Word? I've tried everything I can think of without success.

What should I definitely not do?

Thanks,
Mike
