1. Open the footer/header on page 7
2. In the Header/Footer tools on the ribbon, there's an option, Link to Previous. This allows you to link headers/footers to repeat across sections. Make sure that the option is turned off.
3. Once it's off, you should be able to simply delete the page number in the previous section w/o affecting the following section.
