I am not alone with this problem and have spent hours reading similar experiences, following “how to” and doing multiple uninstall/reinstall, all to now avail.

Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Moved up from Office 2010 Pro to 2016 Pro.
MS keeps sending updates for 2010.
Before installing 2016, I uninstalled 2010 via control panel…no good
Uninstalled 2016 reinstalled 2010 and removed it with Office Uninstaller Tool…no good.

So, I guess the question becomes, is it ok to just let MS install all these 2010 updates, even though there is no such office installed? Any clashes with 2016? Any other ideas?
