This looks like a very old macro from Jay, however it is easy enough to adapt to make it do what you want. Open the template for editing and change the line in the Module 'Finder'

to

dlg.Show vbModeless
and it will remain on screen and allow you to edit the document.

I have attached an updated version to include that change which includes a ribbon button on the Home tab.
