The Grouping control might let you do this. I have not tried this. If you do try it, please report back here on how it works.

Create a Form Using Word Content Controls by Greg Maxey, MVP


You would want to put a rich text content control wherever you want people to be able to edit.


Another option would be to put in the text you do not want edited at the end of the process.



Also, you might construct your non-editable portion as a graphic raher than text.
