thank you for your answer. there is for sure a few aspects of Word that I don't master yet and some element you mention seem very interesting.

however, one problem I see with this solution (ie "restrict editing>No changes > with exceptions") is that the track change option is there as well not available in the part that is "an exception" (would be well the main part of the document, but with respect to restrict editing it is the exception as you mention).

would there be a similar solution where track changes is available inside the excpetion zone?
