Thanks Lucchesi513. I had the same problem as described in this thread, but it was intermittent. It has been driving me mad.
My performance managament was set to "let windows choos", when I changed it to best appearance the problem has been resolved. Fingers cross that's it now.
I'm using Office 2010 on a PC running Windows 10. However, I have another PC with the same Office and OS versions and the problem doesn't appear on that PC (I haven't had a chance to check the performance settings on that one).
