Are you pasting into the same doc, or into another one?

Are the colors applied directly—ie selecting text, then clicking ribbon buttons or going into the Font dialog box—or via Styles?

If pasting Styles into another doc, then I'm fairly sure the color—and other formatting—will change if the receiving doc has a different definition for the same Style name.

If you have Character Styles, they will override Paragraph Styles.
