Default How to apply a new template file?

I’d like to keep the consistency in design across multiple slide decks, by using the same template file.

But sometimes you have to modify the template and re-apply the modified template.

What’s the best way? I found the following article from the MS site, but it looks inefficient: Apply a template to an existing presentation - Office Support

It makes you copy and paste all your previous slide decks. It will also make it necessary to create a new file, which makes the workflow cumbersome if you store the file on the cloud and share with your co-workers.

Is there a simple way to apply a different template file, in a manner similar to attaching a diferent template file in Word?
