The doc. was in OneDrive. It was open continuously from May 11-14. I saved it when it occurred to me to do so, and trusted Autosave to back me up the rest of the time. I gathered from the in-app instructions that keeping Autosave open as I worked would automatically save my work periodically (hourly, as I recall). The title bar read "Saved" before I closed the file on May 14, but on reopening it later I saw that Autosave had saved only my first 8-10 hours of work, from May 11-12. No "unsaved versions" were available on my desktop, nor on OneDrive. My only question:
If "AUTOSAVE" DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY SAVE work periodically...
If it GOES INACTIVE DURING WORK SESSIONS at various times, WITHOUT ALERTING the user...
If it reads "Saved," when it actually STOPPED AUTO-SAVING revisions to the doc THREE DAYS PREVIOUSLY...
...then, my dear pals at microsoft, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU CHARGING ME FOR OFFICE 365???
