Not sure what you are referring to here.

You can use the style I created in a different field.
If Resume Title had been a character style, it would have worked.

I suspect that you may, correctly, have the box check to disable linked styles. I do. That may be the source of the problem.
If that box is checked a linked style acts as a paragraph style. You cannot have two paragraph styles in the same Word paragraph without a Style Separator.

I really dislike linked styles. See what John McGhie wrote about them here.


It is also possible that content controls and restricted editing ignore the linked style part and just use the paragraph attributes. I have not tested that. Like I said, I really dislike linked styles.
