Default Can't save Word 2019 doc to original folder - can you help please?

It's driving me nuts & I've spent hours trying to sort out this very annoying problem. Any help you can give would be very gratefully appreciated!

I've just upgraded from office 2007 to 2019 and I can no longer save a document to its original folder. Instead Word 2019 insists on saving everything to a default file. This is an awful situation as while this can be changed it is a big hassle to have to do this for every document. I use my own file structure where files can be easily located.

To be specific if I change a document and either 'save' or 'save as' the alterations are not saved to the original document in its original location, which is what I need.

Is there any - preferably one keystroke - command to save files in their original folders?

Or do I have to download word 2007 again?

Many thanks

Phil
