He is not alone. I have had this problem for months and it happens with every document.
I have reinstalled Word and removed addins without any effect.
I have seen a suggestion that it could be caused by McAfee but I am unwilling to disable realtime protection.
I have just renamed the Normal template and opened a document and there was no message. I then closed the document and reopened it and the message reappeared.
