First, if your new computer has a free or included version of Office 2016 or 2016 through the My Office app, I recommend that you use it. It is really superior to Office 2007. However, chances are that it is a trial version. In that case you want to uninstall it, then repair your Office 2007 installation.
For now, try repairing your Office 2007. That may be sufficient.
My Office is listed under Microsoft Store apps.
You can run both Office 2007 (except for Outlook) and the latest versions of Office in tandem.
"My Office" is a blanket or shell app that runs the regular Office applications. It can be uninstalled without influencing the ability of the Office desktop applications to run.
IMO, any of the following versions of Word are superior to Word 2007:
Word 2002, Word 2003, Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 2016, Word 2019, Word 365.
I purchased Office 2007 in 2006 and promptly uninstalled it. When I got Office 2010, I reinstalled Word 2007 just so I could give advice about problems people were having. I have never produced a single document using it.
