Default Table Help: lock table structure and collapse/expand parts of table

Hi all,

I have a one page table in Word that has a series of questions on the left and on the right, drop down response options for YES and NO. Some of the responses also include blanks for free text responses.

I am not familiar at all with running macros and I have a very basic understanding of Word features, so any guidance you can provide would be appreciated here. These are my two questions:

1. How can I lock down the left/right structure of the table so a very long free text response on the right will cause the table to expand downward but not move the divider to the left of the free text response?

2. How can I cause certain sections of the Word table to collapse or expand based on responses to certain drop down questions? For example, is someone selects a drop down value of NO to certain questions, I’d like to collapse/hide certain other questions on the page. Alternatively, if the answer to certain questions is YES, then I’d like to expand/show certain other questions on the page.
