  1. Copy your first file.
  2. Go to the end of the copy and insert a Next-Page section break.
  3. Copy and paste document 2 into the end of your copy after that break.
  4. Go to the end of the copy and insert a Next-Page section break.
  5. Go into the headers and footers and disconnect or unlink them from previous headers/footers.
  6. Format the page number to start at 1 in that new section.
  7. Copy and paste document 2 into the end of your copy after that break.
This is far from a sure thing. Word documents can be difficult to combine.
