Unlike Word 2003, which I had clung to like a life jacket, Word 2016 is very poor indeed. I am sure this is your experience.

My problem was simple to fix in 2003, but 2016 is so unbelievably poor that my computer is at great risk of being smashed up before this problem is fixed unless someone can help.

Formatting paperback document. Requires different headers on odd and even pages. Also required page numbers.

I set up the page numbers, which requires DIFFERENT ODD AND EVEN PAGES box to be unchecked or they will not number the document correctly.

I then go to set up headers which must be different on odd'/even pages. This requires the DIFFERENT ODD AND EVEN PAGES box to be checked or I get the same header on both odd and even.

When I check it I get different headers on odd/even pages but all even page nos deleted (useless). When I uncheck it I get my page numbers but the same headers on both odd/even (useless)

Did one document that worked. Did second document immediately afterwards identically that did not work, so it's random and very frustrating.

Please help.
