Default several suggestions, but

So far, no luck. And thank you all so much for your help! I have described myself as a "Digital Dinosaur" and need all the help I can get.

The Ctrl F9, equation, Shft F9 worked to produce a pretty good looking symbol when placed in a new word doc, but when I copy paste into the auto correct it shows up as 0\. the symbol did not show up already in the replace with box as Kilroy suggested.

I tried to enter the equation by copy paste direct into the replace with box, it would not "take".

Is there possibly a way to place the symbol resulting from the equation into the symbols library and then to the autocorrect? As a "custom" symbol?
