Default Problem with Upload Center on Office 2010 when using encrypted area on disk

Hi there, I am experiencing an issue with the "Upload Center" that is bundled with MS Office.

Unfortunately, when I save files from Excel into an encrypted container that is on the local drive, the Upload Center states "Upload Pending" and "Your changes were saved but have not been uploaded to the server because uploads are paused."

The problem I have with this is that UC appears to be saving any updates to Excel files in a temporary storage area on the disk and as such, it is not possible to update my Excel files with the latest changes. As an example, if I try to copy an Excel file to a different location (from an encrypted area), when I open the copy, it is displaying an older version of the file which does not include the latest changes. As there doesn't appear to be any way to resolve this issue from within UC itself, this is frustraling given that I don't use this particular feature of Office but can’t seem to turn it off to resolve this problem.

It is worth noting that I do not experience this issue if I save / update a file on an unencrypted area of the drive.

So far, I have tried the below attempts to resolve this issue, none of which have worked:

**1st Attempt

I located the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

and deleted the "OfficeSyncProcess" entry that points to the current location of "MSOSYNC.EXE"

**2nd Attempt

I have looked through the Processes, Startup and Services sections of the Windows 10 Task Manager for items that relate to either the "Upload Center" or "MSOSYNC" - couldn't seem to see anything relevant.

**3rd Attempt

I located "MSOSYNC.EXE" in the below locations and renamed incidences to "MSOSYNC-old"; I also attempted a variant of this where I also replaced "MSOSYN.EXE" with a text file which had been renamed to "MSOSYNC.EXE"

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

**4th Attempt

I unchecked all options in the settings dialog box for the Upload Center (including unchecking the option for "Display icon in notification area"

I am currently running Windows 10 and MS Office 2010.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this / permanently disable Upload Center, that would be much appreciated,

thank you,

Sam
