Using PowerPoint 2016

I want to remove a graphic from a slide, bring it into Photoshop and remove the background. This graphic has animation applied to it in PowerPoint. When I brought it back into PowerPoint, the animation has been removed.

What is the best way to modify the graphic without altering the animation?
