Ok I just tried it with both a preset font color and a randomly selected random color. It worked fine for both - when I saved it, closed it, and reopened it, the same color remained in that style.

So of the umpteen million possible RGB color combinations, I happened to pick *the one* that Word 2016 does not like?? BAHAHA
