Default Calendar Events Being Deleted

I'm having a very interesting, and frustrating, problem with the smart phone users around my office. When they are connecting their smart phones, they are having their old calendar events deleted. Today is 1/5/2011 and they are losing anything before the week of 10/15/2011.

At first we thought it was a Blackberry issue but just today one of our Android users suffered the same problem. That leads us to believe the problem is with Outlook.

All the reoccurring events are still present. Department meetings and other reoccurring meetings seem to show up fine. But it is all the one time meetings that appear to be deleted. And all of this only happens when syncing with a smart phone.

Any help at all with this issue with be greatly appreciated. We are at our wits end trying to solve this issue.

PS: I'm not sure if this is relevant, but the issue has only started now that we are in 2011. We never had this issue before, but now that everyone is coming back from Holiday Break, it has become something of the epidemic.
