Default Hourglass symbol hangs several seconds after opening Word
After I open Word 2010, the hourglass symbol suddenly appears after a few seconds, then finally disappears after 15-20 seconds. The I-beam also appears. Then I can start typing in my document. If I start typing when the hourglass symbol in on my screen, everything is greyed out. But it disappears after several seconds, then I can start typing. Why does this occur? This cuts down my productivity considerably.
