FWIW I work with several languages in Windows and while the ALT key will pop up the Office ALT key prompts if you hang on to it, if when switching languages you either use both keys together or ALT followed very quickly by shift the ALT command prompts do not pop up. It is only a nuisance if you press ALT then dither about wondering which key to press next.

With Windows 10 you can switch languages using the Windows Key + Space which doesn't involve the Alt key at all.
