You can't get rid of the ones that pop up the Ribbon shortcuts, they are a part of the Ribbon. If you learn to use them, they can be quite handy.

As Paul said, there are a lot of true shortcuts that use the Alt key as well. If you are using one of those, the keypress has to be almost simultaneous.

The one I probably use the most is Alt+F9 which toggles the display of field codes.
