as a simple approach, you could use a baseline to get the info directly from the programe. Failing that (and possibly a better choice if tasks vary over time, eg more added or some deleted) use project compare. Once you have that you can take actual against budget work, and plot in excel.
There are better and/or easier ways, but it really depends on how much task variance there is likely to be, and how it was set up initially.
