It is not practical.

Any solution would involve very intrusive macros which could be switched off by the user and very buggy. If it worked, it would likely result in AC being turned off for all documents at some point.

By AutoCorrect, do you mean spelling correction? If so, that can be done relatively easily without macros. However the user could override it.
