Workbook transferred to another computer, keeps opening as "read-only"
I can't find a good solution through searching, so here is my problem. I have a spreadsheet that I need to save on a thumbdrive and place in a different computer (computer 2), so it can run the solver vba routine, etc. When I open it on computer 2, it says "read-only". I can go into the Trust Center and allow the specific folder, etc., but it doesn't help because I can't save it! So those new "allowed folders" aren't recorded. I suppose I could do a Save As, as the little message suggests, and give it a different name. Supposedly, this newly-named workbook would NOT be read-only. However, I'll be needing to do this a lot, and I don't want the added confusion of always having to do a Save-As on computer 2, then reopen it and start crunching.
To summarize, surely there is something I can do on my original workbook on computer 1, so that it will be trusted by computer 2, and open normally? I am using Excel 2007 on both machines. Thanks for any help!
