Assume there are many images, equations and tables in a long chapter. All of these have to be numbered as 2-4-1-a to 2-4-1-u. Numbering manually seems to be hard. How can do it with Caption automatically numbering.
When a multilevel list is created, Word arranges all levels automatically in the document. It means if one of chapters is deleted then numbering of another chapters will be modified AUTOMATICALLY.
I look for something like multilevel list for images. Assume a document with a lot of images and each image has an explanation below it. Both image and it's explanation have to be together over the document.
Is it possible to make something like Multilevel List for images and their explanations? So if one of the pictures is removed then the number of another images modify automatically.
Let me ask in another way:
We know how Heading Numbering works. After defining Multilevel List, we click on a special chapter and then select one of Heading Styles from Styles Gallery. The correct number is assigned to that chapter automatically. I am looking for such procedure to numbering images. Then it will be enough to select an image, then click on special Style from Style Gallery and it assigns the correct number to that image without typing manually.
Thanks.
