Default I receive an error message with both 64 and 32-bit Office 2016. Can't install either

I purchased a copy of Office Professional Plus and was able to enter the VLSC information with no problem. Since I'm installing it on a Lenovo laptop with 64 bit Windows 10 I first attempted to install the 64 bit version and got the following error message:

OK, no problem. I'll just install the 32-bit version. So I downloaded the 32-bit version, attempted to install and see:

The only thing on this laptop is a trial version (I believe) of Office 365 which I don't want to use anyway. What is the Click-to-Run Extensibility Component anyway? And how do I get rid of it so that I can install Office 2016 either 32 or 64-bit? Or am I overlooking something?

Thanks for any suggestions.
