Hey

I think you need to save your Excel file as comma separated values (*.csv) file.
Then go to File: Open & Export: Import/Export and select "Import from another program or file" and then "Comma Separated Values".
Select the CSV file you want to use.
Specify the destination folder.
Now map the custom fields and press Finish.
