Even though i was fully aware i had approximated from 39.685pt to 40, i never in my wildest dreams, and i have been dreaming about this, would have made the connection.

Even though Words default font and line spacing is in pt, i highlighted the line spacing and entered 14mm, to be precise, and it is fixed!

Round and round in circles, i was convinced microsoft had messed up here haha! Thanks so much for your logic!

FWIW, 14mm is 39.685pt. Using a 40pt line spacing would result in a difference of about 0.25in over the height of an A4 page (assuming 20-21 lines/page). So, setting the line spacing to 40pt is bound to result in a mismatch between the stationery and the printout.
