Splitting the header and footer up worked! Thanks a lot for your help.

The only reason I thought it would be best to have it as an entire page is that one of my past employers hired an agency to do the same task and they did it like that - clearly they did not know what they were doing.

Pre-printed stationery is great however in this case, the word docs will be used online.
