Also, if you can export the PDF as a Word document and if it gives you the formatting you want, you can then open the long style menu from the home tab and update existing styles to match selected text.
For example, select the top heading in the exported Word document, choose Heading 1 in the style menu, right-click on Heading 1 in the style menu, and choose "Update Heading 1 to match selection." You should then have Heading 1 style defined with the right font, color, and spacing. You might to add some attributes to the style, such as "Keep with next" paragraph formatting, which a heading should have. You then can apply Heading 1 to all similar paragraphs. Here is the same idea in numbered steps:
1. Export the PDF as a Word file if you can.
2. Did it give you the appearance you want? If not, forget it. If it did, proceed.
3. Select the top heading.
4. Select Heading 1 in the pull-down style menu, and right-click on Heading 1.
5. Choose "Update Heading 1 to match selection"
Repeat steps 3 through 5, using Heading 2 for the next level of heading and Body Text for the plain paragraphs. Make any adjustments using "Modify Style."
