This is becoming increasingly desperate because my partner has a home business, and it is very embarrassing to have clients watch us print a doc for them only to get the error:
"There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font."
This most recently happened with a 2 page doc, with small margins and no tables, and nothing in clipboard, so can't possibly be a memory problem.

This is likely a problem with your setup, not a bug in Word. Some might say that the complexity of Word and Windows variations is, itself, a bug. I'm sure that Microsoft would like all of us to use the latest version of Windows and Word; but we do not.
There are a few volunteers who regularly answer questions here. This is not a Microsoft site and no one here can speak for Microsoft. You could try here as well.

If you post in multiple forums (this is called cross-posting) please provide a link in each post to the others.
In general, small margins are not a good idea, from a style point of view, having nothing to do with Word.
