Angry Add a Circle Cell Bevel to Table

I'm working on a class project, and the PDF with the instructions is written, very poorly. I have been able to work everything out, thus far. But I have finally hit a brick wall as far as deciphering the terrible directions. Here are the instructions:

Quote:
12. Insert a new Slide 4 with the Title and Content layout. Add a title.

13. On Slide 4, in the content placeholder, insert a Table with 2 columns and 2 rows.
Type some text in each of the cells.

14. On Slide 4, change the Table Style Options so that Header Row is not selected and
then change the Table Style to Themed Style 2 - Accent 1. Add a Circle Cell Bevel to
the table. Increase the table Height to 3.5" and then Center the text Vertically and
Horizontally. Increase the Font Size to 24.
Step 14. is the indecipherable part. Things I have tried: Click on the Table (with the text in it), then go up to "Design", and deselect the Header Row. Then go back to "Home", and move over to "Shape Effects" to find the "Bevel" option, but it is always shaded out, and cannot be selected. I have also tried selecting only the two, lower rows, and repeating these steps. No go. "Edit: Quite honestly, I'm not having success with the latter portion, either--adjusting the table Height nor centering the text vertically."

Can anyone make sense of these instructions? Unfortunately, this class was not intended to teach us Office, and yet we are required to use it. But this wasn't listed anywhere in the requirements nor supplemental information. In fact, in the actual Syllabus, the teachers comments are quite snarky sounding, "If you don't know how to do these steps, Google it!" Wow, really?

p.s. No amount of Google searches is helping me figure this out, which leads me to believe the instructions are simply, written like doo-doo.
