Thank you for the update, I've marked your question as "solved."

If you are still assigning a shortcut, though, I would recommend that you consider using Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Space instead.

It takes more fingers, but the Clear character formatting command is extremely useful. I suppose you could switch that command to the four-key shortcut instead.
