I recently added memory from 8 GB to 16 GB. After this, MS Outlook acted strangely and when I brought up Control Panel it showed for about 10 seconds (with the twirling donut symbol) and then closed. I reverted back to the old 8 GB memory but that did not solve the problem. I ran SFC and DISM to no avail. I then restored the prior version of windows going from 1703 (creatiors update) to 1607. That took care of the Outlook problem but the Control Panel still disappears after about 10 seconds. The windows update took place on 5/21 and I had no (known) problems after the update. The memory was changed on 5/24 and that's when the problems started.

I was not expecting the 1703 update at this time and did not request it. Also several applications shown in programs and features had the install date shown as 5/21 even though some of them were installed a long time ago and not updated.

Any suggestions?
