When opening M/S office 2007 I started to get a msg that a French letter or symbol was giving a problem so after several months of this I decided too delete the program and reinstall office 2007.

I got an error msg "error 1324 micro office 2007 invalid character.
It doesn't indicate what character is at fault so there is nothing to change in the registry.
Trying to delete it using control panel will not allow it to complete the uninstall.
I cannot reinstall Office 2007 or install Office 2010.

Basically I cannot delete or install.

Please help as I have no usable M/S Office on the laptop and I rely on this a lot
