Exclamation Malicious Looking pop up Window when entering Outlook

Yesterday I received an e-mail that's quite scary. Actually it was two e-mails, both titled "COMPASSION FUND-NOT CANCELED". Typical spam, except for one thing -- as soon as these two e-mails appeared, I instantly got a pop-up window with the same title. There are buttons to click -- dismiss, snooze, and maybe a couple others. Naturally I won't click on these, and the good news is that I can exit the window -- but it keeps coming back.

Here's the scary part: I never opened either of these e-mails!!! I never had the chance. As soon as they appeared in my window, the pop-ups began. I deleted both e-mails but the pop-up window remains. Every time I open Outlook, this pop-up appears.

I have run Security Essentials, and I've tried Malwarebytes. No fix; still there.

Has anyone else seen this? What is it? Any ideas on how to remove it? How can it load this without my even opening the e-mail?

If someone at Microsoft wants to look at these e-mail messages, they came through my Verizon/AOL account, and although deleted from Outlook, they are still on the AOL server.

Please let me know your thoughts.

In case this matters, I'm using Windows 7 and Office 2007 on this particular computer. (Windows 10 had problems so I went back to 7).
