Yes it will IF you pay attention to where the customisation is stored.

The second point of Pam's answer was "-On the right side of the screen under Customize the Quick Access Toolbar, choose For [YourFileName.dotm]."

This is very important. This ensures the button is part of the template where your macro is stored. If you put the button customisation into 'for all documents', then the button is saved in your Normal.dotm template which is not (or at least shouldn't be) distributed to the other users.
