Default Convert From Google to Microsoft for everything

Hello,
I am making the switch from Gmail (Google Apps) back to Microsoft Office 365. Attempting to use my Google account with just isn’t working out for me.

For me, the Google apps (especially Gmail) are just plane ugly and have that open source look and feel. Office 365 & Outlook just has a more polished look and feel for my taste. Anyway…. Here we go….

Since the gmail account does not seem to behave reliably with Outlook, so I think I need to create a dedicated Microsoft account?

What I have:
A Google account where I have Gmail, Calendar, Contacts. Eg: mark12345@gmail.com

A current MS Office 365 Home subscription username: mark12345@gmail.com

A Microsoft account login that is named and connected to: mark12345@gmail.com

What are the steps I need to take to:
#1) Convert my @Gmail account over to a Microsoft account so I can say goodbye to Google

#2) Should I change my Microsoft account name from: mark12345@gmail.com to something like: mark12345@ outlook.live.com. If so, how do I do that?

I do plan on using the local Outlook program as well as the internet based outlook.live.com

I have outlook on my Iphone connect to my Gmail account.

Any tips to make this transition would be great.

Thank You
