Default Reference a Document with an Updating Name

Hello,

I have a report that I complete everyday and I pull information from two other reports. I know how to set up my report so that it automatically pulls the information I need from the other 2 reports. My problem is that the naming protocol where I work is when you update a document you have to save it with that day's date (i.e. if today I update the report for how many applications were processed, I would have to save it as "Processed Applications 2.3.17"). Is it possible to tell my report to pull the information from the document no matter what the numbers are?

*by the way, once a document has been updated and saved with a new date, the old one is moved to an "Archive" folder. So there will always be only one document with that name in the folder.*

Thanks in advance for the help, and let me know if you need more information or anything else.

*EDIT*
Also, my profile says MSO 2016, that's my personal copy. At work we have MSO 2013. Same with the OS, 10 is my personal computer, my work computer is 7.
