Default Privacy Error in Word 2010 & 2013 Even though box is unchecked

The prompt reads:

"Privacy Setting

Warning: This document has 'Remove personal information from file properties on save' enabled. Any changes made in Track Changes will be conformed to the 'Author' designation unless this option is disabled.

Would you like to disable this option now?"

Within File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Privacy Options the "Remove personal information from file properties on save" option is disabled, yet the error persists.

The error is sporadic and I cannot find the trigger for it.
So far common denominators have been document templates originally created as .doc and also track changes have been in most if not all documents which provide error. Thing is, you can open a document, receive the error, then open that same document and no error appears. I can't make heads or tails of it thus far and was hoping someone else has experienced/resolved this issue in the past.

The same documents have been used without error for years, so I'm mostly confused as to why this error has just now started to appear.
