Just want to restore my question to the top of the pile as I am still struggling to find the solution to the problem.
By way of clarification, I have been directed to the following Microsoft help page - https://support.office.com/en-us/art...ID=HA010355062
Unfortunately when I follow this through and get to the Programmatic Access page the options are greyed-out, although it appears to be set at 'Warn me about suspicious activity when my antivirus software is inactive or out-of-date' neither of which is the case. My antivirus status is showing as Valid. I use Kaspersky Internet Security.
I uninstalled my Internet Security and relied on MS Defender for a period to see if there had been a problem caused by a Kaspersky update. But nothing changed so I have reinstalled Kaspersky.
I have uninstalled a few Outlook updates that occurred over the last 6 months (since the procedure worked before). But again there has been no resolution.
So where do we go from here? My conclusion is that some Microsoft update has done something. But which one? And where do I go to undo it?
