As you should have realised from the 'non-answers' you say you've seen, Word has no capacity for keeping the line you're typing on in the middle of the window. The nearest emulation of that you can get is to split the document window and type in the upper portion. You can move the split up/down according to preference.

There is nothing of that kind exposed to any configuration option or that can be used in VBA.
