The shading must be copied across from the source so you can either remove all formatting or just one attribute.

Note that shading can be applied at the text, paragraph, table cell or document level. If you want to get rid of shading specifically, pay attention to the 'Apply to' drop down in Charles' screen capture. The elements available in that list depend on what is selected when you open that dialog.
