Rename and recreate Microsoft Outlook data (.OST) file

Question is how do I stop getting my ost corrupted? AVG Antivirus doesn't detect viruses and I stopped it interfering with my emails (I think). I have no space issues and can't see what else... it happened to me before and luckily I remember the solution
